The 2025 red snapper season began on Sunday and both the New Buccaneer with Captain Bo and the Cavalier with Captain Dusty went offshore. The New Buccaneer ran the normal 12 hour trip while the Cavalier ran the half-capacity 12 hour trip. The half capacity trip is slightly more expensive but the number of customers is limited.

The New Buccaneer came in with a nice catch of 156 red snapper, 42 vermillion snapper, one king mackerel, an African Pompano and a scamp grouper.

The Cavalier landed a boat limit of 84 red snapper as well as 6 vermillion snapper, 10 blue runner, a barracuda and 2 almaco jack.

One Monday, June 2 the New Buccaneer with Captain Bo hauled in 198 red snapper (boat limit), 6 almaco jack and 2 scamp grouper. Captain Brian on the Cavalier 12 hour half capacity trip brought in a limit of 84 red snapper, 79 vermillion snapper, 1 scamp grouper, 1 yellowmouth grouper, 1 remora, 1 almaco jack and a sharpnose shark.
